Elizabeth Smart

Brian David Mitchell, the infamous kidnapper of Elizabeth Smart, has been sentenced to life in prison for the abduction he carried out in 2002.
Smart, now 23, was present in the Salt Lake City courtroom Wednesday along with her mother Lois, sister Mary Katherine and father Ed Smart.
Elizabeth Smart addressed the court and Mitchell, saying:
“I don’t have very much to say to you. I know exactly what you did."
"I know that you know what you did was wrong. You did it with a full knowledge. I also want you to know that I have a wonderful life now, that no matter what you do it will never affect me again. You took away nine months of my life.
"That can never be returned, but in this life or next, you will have to be held responsible for those actions, and I hope you are ready for when that time comes."
Ed Smart also addressed Mitchell.
“Your perversion and exploitation of religion is not a defense,” he said. “It is disgusting and it is an abuse that anyone should despise. Regardless of what the defense has proposed, you put Elizabeth through nine months of psychological hell."
"I hope at some time in your life you find what out you have done is wrong. Whether it’s your time on earth or in eternity, you’re going to have to face the guilt. ... I hope at some point in your life you’re going to be able to repent of it."
Mitchell abducted then-14-year-old Elizabeth at knifepoint from her Salt Lake City home in 2002. She testified that he raped her daily during her months long imprisonment, from which she miraculously escaped in 2003.
A jury convicted Mitchell of felony kidnapping and unlawful transportation of a minor across state lines for the purpose of engaging in sexual activity.
There is no parole in the federal system, but Mitchell will be incarcerated outside of Utah because there is no federal prison in the state.

Blake Lively

Blake Lively
Nothing to see here, folks.

Photos that are surfacing online purportedly showing Blake Livelynaked are "100 percent FAKE," the actress's rep tells PEOPLE. "Blake has never taken nude photos of herself."

Lively, 23, the star of Gossip Girland movies including The Townand Green Lantern, plans to fight the dissemination of the images.

Says the rep: "Blake will pursue legal action against the publication which initially published these photographs and any other outlets that republish them in any manner."

Marilyn Monroe

Talk about a garage sale find - a New Jersey man recently rediscovered an envelope of negatives he bought for $2 in the 1980s, which turned out to be rare pictures of Hollywood icons Marilyn Monroe and Jayne Mansfield.

Anton Fury didn't do anything with them at the time, according to reports, but he found the negatives again earlier this year after a flood at his studio forced him to clean out his belongings.

Pictures: Marilyn Monroe

Fury, a photographer, told the New York Daily News that 33 of the images are of Monroe (you can see some of them here), and another 71 are of Mansfield. He took the images to David Streets, a Beverly Hills art dealer and appraiser, who thinks the Monroe images were taken around 1950.

"This is before she became the iconic Marilyn Monroe," Streets noted.
Monroe would have been 24 in 1950, a big year for the then-still-unknown actress due to her roles in "The Asphalt Jungle" and "All About Eve." According to CNN, she wore two bathing suits (one of them a bikini) and short pants for the poolside shoot.

The mystery surrounding the photos - including who took them - is what Streets said drew him in.

"The fun part about it is we're all kind of sharing in the beginning stages," Streets told the Daily News. "The adventure is going to be finding out where, who, what, why and when."

Cecilia Cheung

Cecilia Cheung
Hong Kong screen veteran Patrick Tse on Tuesday let slip that his son Nicholas Tse has indeed been fighting with wife his Cecilia Cheung, reported Hong Kong media.

"It is a small matter; don't know why it kept getting escalated [by the media].

"Which couple doesn't fight?" said Patrick Tse, when asked if the statements made by popular Hong Kong radio personality Eileen Cha are true.

Cha had earlier claimed that Nicholas Tse and Cheung are now a couple in name only and are on the brink of separation after fighting for some time.

She further alleged that Cheung had demanded her husband turn over virtually all his assets to her, adding that cracks in their marriage had appeared long before Cheung's widely reported meeting with Hong Kong actor Edison Chen last month.

Patrick Tse expressed that he was furious with Cha for interfering with his family's affairs and said her comments were as irresponsible as they were inaccurate.

"What right does she have to talk about things?

"I will scold her if I see her. After all, these are somebody else's family matters. How can she know when even I don't?" said Tse.

Despite raising the ire of many netizens and Patrick Tse for her comments on Cheung's marriage, Cha maintained that she had done nothing wrong.

"I don't want to comment on this further.

"I only did what I should do from a journalist's standpoint, just reporting the truth," said Cha.

Vanessa Minnillo

Vanessa Minnillo has a head start on love rival Jessica Simpson in their race down the aisle.
The 30-year-old former MTV host threw a lavish wedding shower with fiancé Nick Lachey, 37, on last night at the London West Hollywood hotel in Los Angeles.
The couple rented out the lavish roof top pool garden for the party and celebrity guests including NFL star Matt Leinhart and the groom-to-be’s brother, Dancing with the Stars champion Drew Lachey.

Lachey and Minnillo have been dating for four years and got engaged last November, just one week before the 98 Degrees singer’s ex-wife Jessica Simpson announced that she was tying the knot with former NFL player Eric Johnson.
It was a busy weekend for Simpson’s ex-boyfriends - Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo (whom she split from in 2009) married beauty queen Candice Crawford on Saturday.

Raj Kiran

Raj Kiran
In a heart-rending revelation, Rishi Kapoor tells us that the missing actor, his co-star in Karz is alive, living in a mental asylum and fending for himself.

It was an unwelcomed plan by destiny. He played the supportive friend to Shabana Azmi in Mahesh Bhatt's Arth, and made Tum itna jo muskura rahe ho a legendary song with the actress. The actor Raj Kiran, who can immediately be recalled as the one who played Rishi Kapoor's 'pre-incarnation' in Subhash Ghai's Karz was at the peak of his career in 1970s and 80s, went missing for almost a decade and then later was assumed dead even by friends.

While most had accepted the worst, acquaintance Rishi Kapoor didn't give up.

He decided to locate the missing actor. And on his recent trip to the USA, Kapoor did what he resolved to do. He found out Raj Kiran, alive in a mental institution in Atlanta.

More than a month ago, Deepti Naval had posted on her FB wall, "Looking for a friend from the film world his name is Raj Kiran - we have no news of him - last heard he was driving a cab in NY city if anyone has any clue, please tell . . ." She was frantically searching for her friend and colleague. Now for everyone like Deepti, here is a piece of important and awakening news.

For someone who is remembered as an engaging, polite and cultured actor, it was shocking that his rumoured death could gather momentum so easily. During his trip, Rishi Kapoor met the missing actor's brother Govind Mehtani. Says Rishi, "I've been wondering where Raj had disappeared.

The question was haunting me for a very long time. Then these rumours of Raj being no more began doing the rounds. I was really disturbed. How can a colleague with whom I shared some really good times, just vanish from the face of earth? I decided to look up Raj's elder brother Govind Mehtani to find out about Raj."

It was then that the shocking truth about Raj Kiran spilled out. Says Rishi emotionally, "I was so relieved when Govind told me Raj was alive. But he was confined to an institution in Atlanta due to health problems." What's perturbing is that his family too has more or less left Raj to his own devices.

He pays for his own treatment in Atlanta. Says Rishi, "Yes, apparently, he looks after his own treatment by working within the institution. It's a heart-rending situation for an actor who was so successful at one time. But I'm just happy to know he's alive.

Raj was very well read and clever with his repartees. I used to enjoy our sparring sessions when we worked together. Though he's younger to me, we always got along really well. I miss him."

It appears that his wife with their son abandoned him at some unknown point, the shock of which he couldn't bear. The rest of his family too didn't bother, seemingly because his mood swings were intolerable and then it was far too expensive for them to get him treated.

It seems Raj went through a series of domestic crises which left him in a state of acute depression. He was apparently institutionalised in India before he left for the US where he now lives.

His family including his elder brother Govind and younger Ajit, are not in touch with him. When Rishi asked Govind for Raj's phone number, the brother didn't have it! Says Rishi, "I wanted to speak to Raj and visit him in Atlanta. But I couldn't get his contact number. I'm definitely going to visit him and urge him to return home.

Though Raj has not been working for a long time, he invested well. So he was not financially challenged by his illness."

The actor, whose dazzling smile had lit up many potboilers for two decades, giving remarkable performances in films like B R Ishaara's Kaagaz Ki Nao, Ghar Ho To Aisa with Anil Kapoor, Meenakshi Sheshadri and Deepti Naval and Kaaran apart from Subhash Ghai's hit Karz and Mahesh Bhatt's critically acclaimed Arth in the 1980s, had vanished for almost a decade.

Rishi wants to bring Raj Kiran back to Mumbai and to movies. "I want him to know we care for him. We want him back where he belongs. I'll personally help him get roles and re-establish himself in Bollywood."
- with inputs by Noyon Jyoti Parasara

The Raj Kiran I Knew...
I had worked with Raj Kiran in Arth and at that time he had never given me a reason to believe that he would ever suffer from such an organic problem. But then years later we heard about bizarre incidents that happened in Bangalore.

He had gone to Puttaparthi and there he apparently, tried to scale a wall and got violent and was accused to have attempted to assassinate Sai Baba. He was brought back to Mumbai where he was kept in a Byculla asylum.

I had gone to meet him there. Some time after that I heard his brother took him to the USA. Now I hear that he in Atlanta and again in an asylum. I had experienced Parveen going through these breakdowns. And it got worse with each breakdown.

It hurts when we see someone being reduced to such a human wreck. You actually mourn at your helplessness.

Remembering Raj
'That's awful. I always wondered where he got to. He was a wonderful actor.

We even did film together years ago. Where is his family?
- Shekhar Kapur

I always feel sad about Raj Kiran. He was a thorough gentleman as a new comer in Karz. But I guess after Karz he got too much of media hype and didn't get the success he expected. It made him disturbed apart from his personal life problems. I don't know thereafter.
- Subhash Ghai

"I am deeply, deeply sorry to hear this. I had met him several years ago at a mental institution in Mumbai and he seemed to be on his way to recovery because he had periods of lucidity.

He was so good in Arth. My heart goes out to him..."
- Shabana Azmi

"Oh my God! We have worked in many films together. He was a very good actor and very nice human being. I pray he gets well soon."

An insider told Us Weekly the reception was held on a white-covered balcony outside a huge, white air-conditioned tent. Jill Scott

Jill Scott and producer J.R. Hutson think that her new jam “So In Love” is compelling because of the “chemistry” she shares with Anthony Hamilton — and it’s on obvious display in the official Taj-directed video. Just like we told you, Jill looks straight gorgeous, and the clip starts as she opens the drapes to let the morning rays fill her house — a subtle nod to her eagerly-awaited LP, The Light Of The Sun. And from there, the romance starts… quickly. Is it getting warm in here, or is it just Jill?
Well who wouldn’t melt after receiving flowers from Anthony Hamilton? Jill has said she thinks “So In Love” has a shot at becoming the next big wedding theme, and the video certainly won’t hurt her case.
Would you play it at your wedding? Let us know in the comments below, or on Twitter orFacebook.

Kristen Bell

A new craze is hitting celebrities - and they're taking it lying down.
Kristen Bell, Ellen Page and Flavor Flav are among a handful of stars trying out "planking," an Australian stunt fad that involves being photographed while lying flat on random objects.
"If planking isn't the greatest single thing the human mind has ever conceived, I don't know what is," Lost creator Damon Lindelof wrote on Twitter, posting a picture of himself trying it out on a coffee table.
"Juno" star Ellen Page has devoted a series of Facebook photo albums to what she calls "The Lying Down Game," in which she and her friends plank in various locales.
The photos have been shared countless times, earning the actress raves from her fans. "You crack me up lady," one wrote on her album "LA Lying."
Planking began years ago, but surged in notoriety earlier this month when a 20-year-old in Australia fell seven stories and died trying to balance on a high-rise balcony.
As the craze picked up steam, enthusiasts even celebrated the inaugural "International Planking Day" on Wednesday.
So how does it work?
iPlanking.com, which advertises itself as the official site of the stunt, instructs wannabe plankers to lie facedown with their hands along their sides and recommends you "curl your toes in" to give the appearance of levitating off the ground.
"Channel your inner plank and visualize becoming the board," the site advises.
On Thursday, Flavor Flav demonstrated his planking abilities for the Daily Beast at a construction site, while holding up a copy of his new book.
"Possibly one of the best moments of our lil' Tumblr existence," the news site wrote on its photo blog.
For those worried about the dangers of planking, actress Kristen Bell advocated practicing the stunt responsibly.
In a picture posted to Twitter, she and fiancĂ©e Dax Shepard pose on a staircase railing relatively low to the ground to minimize risk.

"When done safely its way more fun than smiling 4 the camera," Bell advised.

Rajinikanth In Singapore

As reported first by Deccan Chronicle, Superstar Rajinikanth left for Singapore Friday at 11.45 pm through a Singapore Airlines flight from the Anna international terminal for further treatment and recouping.
In a statement, his wife Latha said her husband was doing well and was in need of complete rest and healthcare.
She also said Rajinikanth required further treatment and rejuvenation and, hence, was travelling to Singapore along with his family. She requested the millions of the Superstar’s fans not to worry about his health as he was recovering and also not to believe untrue reports and panic.
She also thanked his fans and well-wishers for their prayers. The 61-year-old icon has been taking treatment at Sri Ramachandra hospital here for the last two weeks.
Rajinikanth’s elder daughter Aishwarya Dhanush told mediapersons that her father was on the road to recovery and had breakfast Friday morning and also read the newspapers.
Contradicting a report in a section of the media that the Superstar would be airlifted or use an air ambulance, she said her father would be travelling like any other passenger by Singapore Airlines.
Though they have not stated as to which hospital Rajinikanth is being taken to in Singapore, our sources revealed that he would be admitted to the Mount Elizabeth Hospitals, one of the best hospitals in Asia, where politician Amar Singh also took treatment a few years ago for kidney problems.

Bryce Dallas Howard

Bryce Dallas Howard
Bryce Dallas Howard is taking on a role she knows all too well: pregnancy.

The actress, 30, is expecting her second child with her husband, actor Seth Gabel, according to People.com.

The couple, who wed in 2006, is already parents to 4-year-old son, Theo.

Last July, Howard wrote a candid essay on Gwyneth Paltrow's GOOP blog that detailed her struggle with postpartum depression after her son's birth.

"Nothing," she wrote of her feelings. "I felt nothing."

While referring to her newborn as ‘it' and having emotional breakdowns, Howard managed to hide her suffering from her family and friends by bottling up her feelings until she was alone and would heave "uncontrollable sobs."

In addition to being treated by a doctor who gave her the "severe post-partum depression" diagnosis, Howard joined group meetings with other moms and found help in Brooke Shields' book, "Down Came the Rain," about her own post-partum depression battle.

"Do I wish I had never endured postpartum depression? Absolutely. But to deny the experience is to deny who I am," wrote the "Eclipse" actress, daughter of director Ron Howard.  "I .. feel deep gratitude for those who stood by me, for the lesson that we must never be afraid to ask for help."

Cheryl Cole

Speaking as one of X Factor’s biggest fans, with the dog-eared Jedward mask to prove it, all the speculation about Cheryl jetting off to America to make her fortune (well, even more of a fortune) got boring about three months ago.
When it was finally confirmed that she was joining the show, we were relieved – at least it would put an end to the hourly rehashed rumours in which sources close to Cheryl/Simon Cowell/Kimberley Walsh’s budgie’s mum would definitely maybe kind of imply that that she certainly probably theoretically would be on the show.
Were we sad to see Cheryl go? Yes, so much so that we eventually perfected her trademark technique of crying out of one eye while a contemporary pop hit with soaring string section and emotional key change played in the background. But we were excited too – our Cheryl-obsessed, now slightly bloodshot eyes enjoyed scrutinising pictures of her rocking up at the auditions in pretty polka-dot dresses.
We hoped she’d finally get over Ashley and bag herself a sexy American boyfriend (not tedious little Derek Hough – we were thinking more along the lines of Justin Timberlake).
We were also looking forward to mocking the inevitable Joss Stone accent she’d soon acquire, given that her new audience apparently couldn’t understand a word she said, like.
But it turns out all of this has been more pointless than Sinitta. And the worst thing about it?
Now we have to prepare ourselves for yet more mind-numbing speculation about the past, present and future of Cheryl and the show.
Did she jump or was she pushed? Did she know she was being screwed by Simon, hopefully only in one sense of the word?
Has she fallen out with Nicole Scherzinger? Is that even how you spell Scherzinger? And how does Cheryl feel now? Is she happy? Grumpy? Dopey? Doc? Bashful?
The whole thing is utterly ridiculous and has turned the X Factor into one big joke.
The role of the pretty, fluffy, popstar judge who can endure the occasional innuendo and occasional insult from Simon should be easy to fill and shouldn’t overshadow the show itself.
Imagine if normal workplaces operated like this. “You’re hired! Have millions of dollars and all the shoes in the world! No, wait, you’re fired  - we’ve found someone who doesn’t have a stupid accent, plus her boyfriend’s a super cool racing driver.
You’ll be fine though – you can have your old job back… no, actually, sorry, some bird from N-Dubz might be doing it instead and we’re a bit scared of her so… yeah… we’re not quite sure yet, to be honest. Sorry pet. Don’t sue us, yeah?”
We'd like to say we'll be forced to boycott the X Factor in protest at this farce, but that would really mess with our social life. It's OK though, we'll still come out of it with more conviction and integrity than Simon Cowell's currently exhibiting.
Best case scenario for Cheryl now: UK X Factor and a Girls Aloud reunion. Worst case scenario: Geordie Shore and an Ashley Cole reunion.

Sarah Mclachlan

Sarah McLachlan had the fairytale life most young girls who sing into their hairbrushes can only dream about. She nabbed two Grammy awards, married a hot drummer, welcomed two gorgeous daughters and co-founded Lilith Fair. Her angelic voice echoed through monumental events from weddings and first dances to funerals and memorials. But then...

"Yeah, the marriage part didn't quite work out," she tells Spinner with a laugh after having just put her "screaming three-year-old" to bed. "Apparently that's a bit of an epidemic, so I just make light of it."

Epidemic indeed. Three years on, the 43-year-old Canadian may chuckle at the demise of her marriage as another statistic in a divorce-saturated world, but it wasn't always so easy for the songstress to joke about. In fact, she admits at one point she entered an emotional hole so horrid that she never expected to be able to make music again, let alone return to the stage.

The thought of never singing and touring again was a grim prospect for the girl who grew up spending her spare time taking vocal lessons and her school hours studying classical piano and guitar. It wasn't exactly down to her genes -- the Halifax, Nova Scotia-born Aquarian was adopted by an American couple, Jack and Dorice, shortly after her birth and it was Dorice who taught McLachlan her first song and had her performing at tea parties. The story goes that it wasn't until McLachlan was a college student at the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design that a peer commented on her likeness to another friend -- who turned out to be her birth mother Judy (the two would eventually meet).

By that stage, McLachlan had found solace in music through her teens. It's a typical celebrity story -- the geeky girl who finds herself an outcast at school then goes on to become a global superstar. She never doubted that she was destined for a career in the arts.

"I knew I'd be making music or art, just like I knew ever since I was 17 that I'd have two daughters," she says, matter-of-factly. So it was hardly surprising when her high-school band the October Game's debut concert saw her immediately offered a record deal. After finishing up school and one year of college at her parents' insistence, McLachlan signed with the label and moved to Vancouver.
Her first two albums saw her shoot to fame in Canada, her next cracked the international market and 1997's 'Surfacing' (which spawned the iconic single 'Angel' from the 'City of Angels' soundtrack) scored her two Grammy awards. But as she basked in the success, McLachlan became frustrated that none of the summer's touring festivals featured back-to-back female artists. So while the Spice Girls were exploding in the UK, McLachlan engineered her own girl-power movement, the female-only music festival Lilith Fair.

The tour quickly became big news, grossing roughly $16 million US in its first year, becoming the most successful all-female music festival in history and helping launch the careers of various female artists. A portion of ticket sales raised around $7 million US for various charities over Lilith Fair's three-year run and it became an iconic celebration of women and music, attracting more than 1.5 million fans. "I just thought it'd be fun to make music with a bunch of women," says McLachlan. "But it became a big political statement and took a life of its own. A lot of great things come with being with other women -- social issues and environmental issues, trying to make the world a better place."

The tour was relaunched last year on the back of McLachlan's comeback album 'Laws of Illusion,' but she recently announced it would not be returning, due to the project'sfailure to bring in money.

McLachlan has experienced her own dramatic changes during that period, too, most notably her marriage to fellow Canadian musician Ashwin Sood, who she hired as a drummer, started dating a few years later and then wed while on vacation in Jamaica in 1997.

Eleven years and two beautiful daughters later, the marriage fell apart.

At the time, amid cheating rumours, Sarah simply described the breakup as "pretty gross," and she's open about the pain that it caused her.

"Coming to terms with the fact that my marriage was a failure was devastating and very difficult," she says. "I blamed myself for a lot of things. It took me a very long time to get over it. I have amazing friends, great family and two kids so I just got out of bed everyday and kept moving forward. I'm not one to sit and wallow -- I would rather figure out a way around so I can move past it and be at peace with things. I don't like bad feelings gnawing away at me.

"So I've certainly done a lot of growing up in the past couple of years, recognizing bad traits in myself and others.

"And music has always been incredibly cathartic for me, whether it's writing my own stuff or singing other people's music; it's very freeing. But it did take me a long while to be able to write again because I was just too far down a deep dark hole to do anything. I had to crawl back up, get some light in and have some objectivity before I could start writing again."

Two songs -- 'U Want Me 2' and 'Don't Give Up on Us' -- eventually came from McLachlan's heartache, and these days she's friends with Ashwin and has adjusted to life as a solo mom.
"My oldest, India, is 8 and she is an amazing teacher and the great leveller," McLachlan says. "She's very truthful and loves an opportunity to take the piss out of me and put me in my place. She's fierce! I tend to bulldoze through things and she's always there making me more present and thoughtful in everything I do. She has made me a much better person.

"My second, Taja [3], is just joyful. She takes fistfuls of her sister's hair every chance she gets but they're girls so that's what happens. She wakes up singing and skipping and dancing and she's always happy.

"I honestly can't remember what life was like before I was a mother. I think I had a lot of bloody time on my hands! Having kids is profound. All of a sudden you have to be 100-percent responsible for a human being other than yourself, and it's terrifying and exhilarating at the same time. Everything I do, my first thought is how it's going to affect them."

Sadly, her adopted mother passed away of cancer shortly before Christmas 2001, when McLachlan was pregnant with India. It was a long, ugly illness and it was heartbreaking for McLachlan to lose Dorice just a couple of months before the birth of her first child. "But she's in a better place," McLachlan says. "She was sick and in pain for a long time and it's brutal to watch somebody go through that. By the time she died, it was a relief because she wasn't there anymore. She was this shell of a person who was suffering and it wasn't much fun.

"I miss her a lot, especially if something crazy happens with the kids. It would be nice to have her there. But my dad is a gem. He's so sweet and he remarried the most fantastic woman on the planet -- who happens to have the same name as my mother -- and with her came two new sisters and a brother, all who I love. It so could have gone in the other direction. So I have great family support and incredible friends who I've leaned on a lot."

Having returned to the road after taking a significant step away from music to concentrate on motherhood following India's birth, McLachlan credits the world's best nanny for helping her juggle work with the girls: "She is Mary Poppins and Mother Teresa mixed into one -- a school teacher, lifeguard, swim instructor and the finest human being I've ever met!"

And while dating was fun for awhile, right now Mary Poppins is enough to fill the gap Ashwin left in McLachlan's life.

"I honestly can't imagine dating anybody right now," McLachlan admits. "I dated briefly and it was a whirlwind and so much fun but it takes too much emotional work. I have two small kids so for anybody who comes into my life, it's a big life and there's a lot going on. I think I'm going to be single for a long time."

Huguette Clark

Huguette Clark, the heiress, has died at age 104 and has left behind many unanswered questions.
As the Vancouver Sun reports, Clark’s father was a copper mining tycoon in the 19th century as well as a senator. Clark was raised in Paris, California and Manhattan. After a brief marriage, she grew increasingly reclusive. She returned to live at home with her mother and refused to see anyone except for a select number of friends. In fact, the last known picture of her is from the day of her divorce in 1930.
Clark refused to be photographed and spent most of her time boarded up in a Manhattan apartment collecting dolls and watching “The Flintstones” cartoon. According to the Sun, she spent the last two decades of her life living in hospital rooms even though she appeared to have no illness.
Clark’s fortune is estimated to be worth half a billion dollars and includes three luxurious but unoccupied homes. Although Clark reportedly was a philanthropist, giving away large sums of money to charities and organizations, the rest of her fortune will probably not be dispersed in that way.
Clark’s family and Clark’s lawyer have begun the battle over her estate and finances. The family claims Clark’s lawyer, Wallace Bock, manipulated her and prevented her from having contact with her family and vice versa. Bock claims he was only fulfilling her wishes to be in total isolation.
Although the heiress wanted total privacy, it appears that, thanks to this battle over her estate, her name will not be leaving the headlines any time soon.

Estella Warren

Planet Of The Apes star, former model and professional synchronized swimmer Estella Warren lost her sh*t in Los Angeles a few nights ago and was taken into custody for a DUI and assault. She kicked an officer. She also apparently briefly evaded arrest by slipping out of the handcuffs and running out of the police station. What is this, Catch Me If You Can? I find it sort of incredible that a person who makes money off her lips could outsmart the LAPD.
"We're talking seconds [that Warren was out of police control]," the LAPD rep said to defend the honor of the Shield. Yeah, okay. I've watched enough Law & Order to know "how sh*t goes down."
Warren hit three cars on the road and one of their owners approached her at the site of the collisions. He said "She was obviously drunk and acting crazy... A few more residents approached her, but she started yelling and accused us of stealing things from her... When I told her she had to wait for the police to arrive she lashed out at me and started to ‘girl-slap’ me on my chest and arms." #lolgirlslap
Warren was released after paying $100,000 bail and her rep hasn't commented. Maybe she should start swimming again, my therapist says it's calming. Is Estella Warren the Michelle Rodriguez of 2011? We hope so, that crazy heaux was entertaining.

Annie Yi

Annie Yi
Clips from a video DVD, showing a young girl singing nude in a see-through dress, have gone viral on the Internet in recent weeks.

Taiwan tabloid "Next" last week claimed the girl in the video, which looks to have been recorded in 1986, "closely resembled" Taiwan singer-actress Annie Yi in her teenage years.

Yi, who normally ignores such reports, took the unusual step of holding a press conference to clarify matters in Taiwan on Saturday, reported Taiwan media.

"I am very sure that (the woman in the video clip) is not me," Yi told reporters.

Yi said the article in "Next", which contained screenshots from the clip, violated her rights as it linked her to the woman in the clip and tarnished her reputation.

She explained that it may have also violated child protection laws because the woman in the video clip appeared to be under-age.

The 42-year-old singer-actress, who separated from ex-husband, Taiwan singer Harlem Yu in 2009, expressed that she had since instructed her lawyers to send a letter to the tabloid.

She left after speaking for just three minutes, leaving her lawyers to answer queries from the media.

When asked why she left so quickly after speaking, Yi said it was simply because she was too angry and did not want to act out in front of the media.

"There was this anxiety borne of rage. I was very afraid I would disgrace myself in public," Yi later told Chinese media.

"I have decided not to overlook hurtful reports about me. Regardless of how remote the possibility of it harming me, I will seek legal redress."

In addition to her own rights, Yi said she decided to speak out in order to defend the rights of the girl featured in the video.

Responding to the statements Yi made at the press conference, a "Next" spokesperson said Yi had "no basis for claiming the girl was underage since she (Yi) is not the girl in question".

The spokesperson re-iterated that the publication "only suggested that the girl resembled Yi but did not say it was her".

Manav Menon

Sushmita Sen and ad-filmmaker Manav Menondated for a brief while and then separated five years ago. That was the last one heard about Manav and Sush.

They both moved on with their lives. Now suddenly years later, the duo seems to be in touch again.

Says a source close to Sush, "Manav is suddenly back in Sush's life, although one is not sure if he is just there as a friend, or more. Sush has always remained in touch with her ex-boyfriends —Vikram Bhatt, Sanjay Narang and Randeep Hooda. In fact, one of the reasons for her split from Manav was that he could not handle her closeness to Randeep. The split wasn't amicable like her other relationships, which is why it is surprising that they are back to being 'friends.' Suddenly after five years, they are together and more than comfortable being in each other's company even in public."
The source adds, "When they were first dating, the actresses' daughter Renee didn't quite take to the hot-tempered and aloof Manav, but this time he is going out of his way to break the ice with the Little Ms Sen. Meanwhile, the couple have been spotted catching up over dinner, coffee, etc. since the last two months. Manav has turned more spiritual in the last few years. Clearly he wants this to work this time around, and is making an effort. So, let's see how things turn out between them." Sush remained unavailable for comment.

Factfile on Sush-Manav romance
Sushmita and Manav dated for a year in 2006 and people speculated that marriage was on the cards. Sush had flown down Israeli tarot reader Ofer Cohen to consult on their relationship and how to take things forward. Their relationship headed a roadblock soon due to incompatibility. Manav was going through a divorce when he was dating the actress.
